There is something about being at one school for an entire career that intrigues me. When I first started at a private school during the 1998 - 1999 school year, I knew it was only for that school year because I wanted to teach at a public school. I still remember in 1999 when I got hired at the school I am currently teaching. I told myself this is the school I will retire with when I retire from full time teaching. There were many ups and downs through the years. But, the one constant I kept close to my heart is my belief in God. I have always been a praying person. This school year, with the pandemic, with the exception of my first year of teaching has been the most challenging.
The question do I transfer to another school or do I stay at the same school. I pray to God for answers because if I made decisions on feelings, I would have transferred to another school a long time ago. I still enjoy the people I work with within my Math department. I know that is extremely important. I would like to continue with the same school that I had originally started my public high school teaching career. We are about in the middle of quarter 3 and I am just thinking about getting through the week. If I had to say at this moment in time, I would probably stay at the same school for next school year because I believe we are doing something good within our department. Almost every day, I start off or end the day with a prayer from the scriptures. So, today, I will end my blog post with this prayer I have on my profile page:
"Whoever dwells in the shelter of the most high, will rest in the shadow of the Almighty." Psalm 91:1
Today was a good day!
